Thank to Michelle Malkin, who’s done some tremendous research and provided a ‘primer‘ on hate speech by those on the Left over the last few years – that somehow folks cannot seem to remember today. Some believe speech that they don’t agree with using military jargon or graphics may be a ‘trigger’ for those with mental issues to commit crimes, and imply that Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot by just such a person. Michelle’s research and post show the fallacy of such contemptible thinking.
Of particular note, is the list of mugshots of folks claiming to speak for Leftists while committing assault. Absolutely nuts!
Frankly now, President Obama made these statements during the recent elections (Tip of the hat to Michelle):
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.”
Get out there and “punish our enemies”
“I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
“Punch back twice as hard.”
I want to know “whose ass to kick”
“…I’m itching for a fight.”
The emphasis is mine – my point is that political speech has historically taken on military jargon and innuendo. It is the nature of politics since our nation’s birth. It isn’t going to change anytime soon, and it’s shameful that ideology is taken this tragic event and using it for political purpose, especially in mainstream media.
